Protocols of Encounter: On Dance Dramaturgy
In “Protocols of Encounter: On Dance Dramaturgy” Sandra Noeth discusses dramaturgy as useful instrument of perspective for choreography. Instead of a specific form, dramaturgy focusses on the question how decisions are made, how communication is created and on experiences of manipulation, imitation, representation and participation. In relation to dance, this perspective involves the breaking down and overflowing of barriers by the artform itself. Furthermore, Noeth describes the field of choreography as a historically grown medial hybrid.
