Dramaturgy at The Guthrie: An Interview with Mark Bly
An interview with Mark Bly, dramaturg or literary manager of the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is presented. He cites that as a full-time dramaturg he reports directly to the artistic director of the theater. He relates that he wrote an essay discussing some of the major stylistic approaches and character interpretations when he dramaturged the production *Twelfth Night*. He asserts that dramaturgs must help directors to probe and penetrate beyond illusory knowledge.
